Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX

Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX

The 2.0 L (1,997 cc) 4G63 Inline-Four engine that powered the Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX boasts MIVEC technology (variable valve timing), and a new turbocharger design increases crankshaft power to 291 PS (214 kW; 287 hp) and torque to 392 Nm (289 lb-ft).

There were three trims available for Europe, Asia, and Japan. Although every model had the same 291 PS (214 kW; 287 hp) engine, each model had a different amount of torque. However, the Evolution IX's 280 PS was touted in Europe (206 kW; 276 hp). The RS and GT generated 407 Nm (300 lbft), whereas the GSR only produced 400 Nm (295 lbft).
